Mater Prize Home – Salt Village – Interior Styling by Eleven8Create
I have just completed the next prize home for the Mater Foundation and I couldn’t be happier with the results! For this house we ran with a beach theme because let’s face it, when a house is located walking distance from the ocean and you can hear the sounds of the waves crashing on the sand, what could be more appropriate. So to add to the interiors appeal I chose a nautical flavour which conjures up an ambience in keeping with the stylish Hamptons and Nantucket regions of the States.
This house offers an architecturally designed property with clean white lines, a timber stairwell with stainless ballustrading, high ceilings and lots of natural light pouring into a floor plan which achieves a relaxed and seamless ‘indoor/outdoor’ feel in keeping with our Australian way of life.
I had A LOT of fun sourcing all the interior furnishings for this property and then of course setting up ‘house’ during the all important fit-out stage. Starting with just a concept board (or I like to say mood board – it’s about zoning in on the feel you want to create for a space) there is nothing more satisfying than seeing what you’ve visualised come to life, it’s like watching all the pieces of the jig-saw puzzle harmoniously fall into place.
I was at the photo shoot with the talented Josh Rablin www.joshuarablin.com yesterday so as soon as his images come through I’ll be sure to pop them up – but for now you can make do with this sneak peek courtesy of moi!
Onto the important stuff – the campaign for this house will be drawn just before Christmas and so won’t be up and running for a few more weeks. Keep checking www.materprizehome.com.au for all the up-to-date info and happy punting when the time rolls around! Wouldn’t this make for a fabulous Christmas present to top off a great year!?!
Outstanding Heidi! You have made it such a beautiful, and strangely enough considering that no one lives there yet – a personal and tranquil house.
Wow wow wow! What a wonderful eye you have; you have done a truly gorgeous job! Can’t wait to see the next one 🙂
